WHAT IS MEDICAL EXERCISE?
Exercise is the key to long term management of most medical conditions. Medical Exercise Training (MET) is the next logical step in your recovery. When your pain has mostly subsided, you are able to get around on your own, you have been released from your physical therapists or chiropractor, THEN it is time for us.
โ
HOW MEDICAL EXERCISE WORKS
Fredericksburg Fitness Studio offers a 90-Day Medical Exercise Training School (METS) that provides preventive and therapeutic services to help with chronic disease management. These chronic diseases include but are not limited to: cardiovascular, pulmonary, metabolic (thyroid, diabetes,) or musculoskeletal conditions such as low back pain, arthritis, osteoporosis, etc.
โ
Through medical exercise and lifestyle education, participants will achieve improved function, fitness and cardiopulmonary health. Each protocol-based medical exercise session includes aerobics, strength, flexibility, Pilates and balance training. As a student, you will receive information about maintaining a healthy lifestyle and managing risk factors. There are three different “levels” of schools offered. Level 1 is private, one-on-one, Level 2 is small group condition-based classes, and Level 3 is our Functional Maintenance Training program.
Fredericksburg Fitness Studio is a private facility that accepts physician-referred clients. Ask your physician if this may be the right program for you, or speak with one of our MedEx Specialists for more details at 540-479-1877.
We are Allied Health Professionals, specifically categorized as Rehabilitation Practitioners by the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Fredericksburg Fitness, Inc.'s National Provider Identifier # is 1144784810.
