Rain-Out
April 22, 2009 in Boot Camp by Ralph Scherer
So at least we made it through about 30 minutes of boot camp yesterday!! I’m hoping this nasty rain gets out of here for Thursday. If there is any sign of rain in the forecast on Thursday we will be meeting at Carletta’s and I will email all of you of the location change. Ok, so I’m taking a vote to determine how we want to make up the 30 minutes we lost. Just reply to this post with your vote.
1.) Add 10 minutes of ab work to the end of boot camp for the next 3 sessions.
2.) Begin at 5pm and end at 630pm next Tuesday April 28.
Let the voting begin!
I’m down for what ever everyone else wants to do.
I am all over the additional abs. I will do whatever works for everyone!! I love abssssssssss!!!!!!!!! Btw!! Ladies, my weakness is running. How can I increase my ability to run a little longer each time?????
My vote is definitely for the ab work – that’s my problem area!
Breathing is a big part of running and also your stance. Concentrate on breathing in through your nose and out of your mouth helps to keep your breathing controlled and won’t exhaust you as much. Also, when you run you should always keep a pretty good bend in your knees and try to stay low to the ground. Keep your shoulders down and away from your neck so you aren’t feeling shoulder pain and try to keep your arms from swinging too much to the sides and try to keep them in front of you and low. Leaning a little forward especially going up hills and concentrate on tucking your stomach in so it doesn’t hurt your back. Eating a protein bar or energy bar an hour or two before usually helps and hydrate through the day. I always have to remind myself of these things too because you get tired and your form suffers from it. Try it and see if you feel a difference. I hope it works for you Carletta!
Happy running!!!
Great!! I will try it, but 2 more things. Is there such a thing as running to hard? I feel like I am stomping when I run and What can I do about my schins? They hurt before and after any type run……. Thanks
more ab work!!
Yes, you absolutely can run too hard. Try to keep your feet low to the ground and your knees bent so that you’re not pounding the ground but lightly placing your feet down. Does that make sense? Your shin pain could be from running on asphault (not sure if that’s where you’re running most but maybe switch it up and run on the ground or treadmill) or maybe you need a more cushioned shoe. Inserts in your shoe may help too. I hope this helps!
Yep, pavement! Thank you..this helps alot!!!
Yeah, looks like we are getting more abs work!! Woohooooo
Thanks Jennifer for pushing us. It is a pleasure working with you. There are going to be at least 8 new hotties this summer!!!!!!!
Abs! starting early means requesting a refund. Im already late… 5 pm definitely will NOT work for me. ABS ABS ABS just in case you didn’t get my vote.
